I opened my laptop this morning to a couple new messages in my guestbook.
One of them was this:
have you considered suicide? (if not, consider)
I've never received anything like it before. It's a bit jarring—only one person I know in real life is aware of my blog—and, honestly, kinda creepy.
Is this just a weird rite of passage for a new blogger, or is it because I wrote about the US election yesterday, or is it for another reason entirely?
I'm gonna continue to mull it over while I drink my coffee and get my day going, but I think I'll leave it up and let it get buried under new comments.
The reality is that this space has been overwhelmingly positive so far, and I don't want to let one mean, bizarre note change that.
Anyway, happy Wednesday. Lots to be hopeful about today...
